Job summary

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for Child Watch Attendants. The ideal candidate has experience with children and can create a safe, engaging environment in the Kid Zone at the Recreation Center.

Work is primarily morning shifts, 8-20 hours per week, with a starting rate of $15.50 per hour. Candidates must be at least 16 and able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED within three months of hire. A drug screen and background check apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old at time of employment.
• Previous experience working with children professionally or through volunteer work.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, and sports.
• Enforce all child watch policies, rules, and facility guidelines.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment in the Kid Zone area.
• Follow and enforce behavior management policies when necessary.
• Complete required paperwork for child sign-in/sign-out, accidents, and incidents.
• Assist with front desk operations, facility rentals, and special events as needed.
