Job summary

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Child Watch Attendant to monitor the Kid Zone and ensure a safe, engaging environment for young visitors.

Ideal candidates have experience with children and can plan age-appropriate activities; certification in First Aid/CPR/AED should be obtained within three months of hire. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour, with morning shifts totaling 8–20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old at the time of employment.
• Previous experience working with children professionally or through volunteer work.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, and sports.
• Enforce all child watch policies, rules, and facility guidelines.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment in the Kid Zone area.
• Complete required paperwork for child sign-in/sign-out, accidents, and incidents.
• Assist with front desk operations, facility rentals, and special events as needed.
