Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a part-time Child Watch Attendant for our Kids Zone. You’ll care for children from 12 weeks to 8 years while their parents work out, take a class, or use the Y facilities.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Certifications in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment (free training available).
• Ability to work with children and relate to people in a friendly, consistent manner.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet each child and family with a smile as they arrive and leave.
• Follow sign-out procedures to ensure each child is released only to authorized person.
• Care for children aged 12 weeks to 8 years in a safe, clean and organized Kids Zone.
• Lead age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts.
• Follow health practices, including handwashing and cleaning surfaces and toys.
• Keep records of children participating in the program.
• Know safety and emergency procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications

• Ability, desire, and basic skills to work with children.
• Ability to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
• Able to reflect a positive attitude.
• Able to work Position Hours: Weekends, Evenings
• Must have reliable transportation
