Job summary

IGHL Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities with respect and dignity. You will assist with ADLs, monitor health, maintain records, and participate in program goals and community activities.

Role requires a NYS driver’s license, SCIP and Adult CPR certifications, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. The position is non-exempt and pays hourly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required; must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication as per certification.
• Encourages choice-making and uses redirection techniques.
• Teaches and assists with self-care routines (toileting, bathing, dressing).
• Implements program goal plans for self-care, communication, and independence.
• Performs housekeeping and supervision of household chores.
• Supports recreational activities and community outings.
• Maintains logs and documentation (nursing, medication, behavior).
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Covers at other locations as needed.
• Complete SCIP, AMAP, and CPR certifications within 6 months.
