Job summary

Portola Hotel & Spa Monterey is seeking a friendly, energetic server to join our restaurant team. You will greet guests, take and relay orders via POS, and ensure accurate delivery of food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks with proper ID checks.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, ServSafe certification, and alcohol management certification, with hospitality experience. Schedules are day shifts and require flexibility for events and busy periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• California Food Handlers/ServSafe Certification is required.
• State approved Certification Alcohol management is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests following company standards to enhance guest experience.
• Maintain friendly, helpful attitude with guests and staff.
• Recommend dishes, ingredients, and menu preparation details.
• Serve beverages including alcohol; verify guest age per law.
• Record orders via POS and relay to kitchen.
• Observe guests and respond to requests promptly.
• Process payments and provide accurate change.
• Keep tableware, linens, and condiments replenished.
• Set tables for next service period; maintain sanitation.
