Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a School Van Monitor to support Van Pool Transportation LLC. You will help students board, buckle seat belts, and stay with them on routes, ensuring safety.

Work 20–25 hours weekly, with shifts around 5:30am–9:00am and 1:00pm–5:00pm. Compensation is $18.53/hour plus benefits (401(k), dental, vision, life insurance) and paid training.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly in English and enjoy working with school-age children, including those with special needs.

Qualifications

• Must be age 18+.
• Ability to pass CORI/SORI and drug screen.
• Effective communication in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist students entering/exiting the vehicle and ensure seat belts are used.
• Monitor student behavior and provide guidance as needed.
• Report safety concerns to management and follow corrective steps.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Demonstrate ability to install car seats/booster seats when required.
• Follow written and verbal directions from supervisors.
• Work with school age children, including those with special needs.

Van Pool Transportation LLC

What We Offer:

• $18.53 Per Hour, Effective August 24th, 2026
• Split Shifts- 5:30am-9:00am & 1:00pm-5:00pm (example only, exact hours depend on assigned route)

Requirements

• Age 18+
• Ability to pass a background check, CORI/SORI, drug screen
• Effectively communicate in English (spoken and written)

What You’ll Be doing:

• Safely assist students as needed. This includes helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts, and safely securing them in car seats and booster seats. Lifting may be required.
• Monitor student behavior to provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction when necessary.
• Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management; follow directions and implement corrective steps as assigned.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in (English) with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while using Van Pool’s two-way radio system.
• Must have the physical capability to safely install car seats and booster seats.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to work effectively with school age children with special needs.
