Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to perform continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and to promptly notify RNs or clinicians of any rhythm changes. The role includes reviewing patient data to identify normal, current, and variances in rhythms, and working as part of a collaborative care team on Mercy’s mission-driven standards.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with monitor tech training or an exam score of 85% on the monitor tech competency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
• Experience working in a clinical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• On-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors.
• Provide immediate notification to RNs/clinicians of rhythm changes.
• Review patient information to determine normal and current rhythm patterns and variances.
• Work cooperatively as part of a healthcare team.
