Job summary

Mercy South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Monitoring Technician to oversee ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provide immediate notification of rhythm changes to RNs and clinicians.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask under pressure in a full-time night shift (36 hours/week, 7p-7a). Mercy offers strong benefits and a supportive team committed to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Mercy coworker status optional.
• CRAT certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Surveil cardiac monitors and notify clinicians of rhythm changes.
• Review patient information to identify normal and abnormal patterns.
• Work cooperatively with RNs and clinicians in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain Mercy standards in daily monitoring duties.

Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Education

High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.

Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.

Other

Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.

Preferred Experience

Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Certifications

CRAT certification preferred.
