Job summary

Sentara Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Part-Time Monitor Technician for day shifts (7A–7P). You will observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings from telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient’s norm.

Requires a high school diploma; completion of a monitor technician surveillance program is required on hire, with options for certification within 90 days. Prior healthcare exposure encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent - Required.
• Monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• If not completed, certificate program must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• New employee orientation includes Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency and exam.

Responsibilities

• Observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients.
• Detect deviations from patient’s norm and communicate findings as required.
