Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a part-time Monitor Technician to observe and analyze EKG tracings on telemetry patients. The role requires completing a monitor technician surveillance program or certificate within 90 days if not already completed, and passing Sentara's arrhythmia competency tool.

Two 12-hour shifts weekly, with rotating weekends and holidays, and benefits including medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and tuition assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
• If not completed, certificate program must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Must complete Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool with a passing basic arrhythmia exam.
• Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Observe, recognize, interpret, evaluate, and document EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient’s norm.
• Monitor patient telemetry and promptly report abnormal findings.
• Complete orientation and competency assessments as required by Sentara.
