Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to support our unit with EKG monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and accurate record keeping. You will relay changes to nursing staff, maintain telemetry supplies, document patient conditions, and assist in mentoring new staff while adhering to safety protocols.

A patient-focused, collaborative approach is essential. Qualifications include BLS, a basic EKG/arrhythmia course, and strong medical terminology knowledge.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.

• Record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Perform duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
