High school graduation is required, and basic understanding of cardiac monitoring is strongly desired.
Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a part-time Monitor Technician. This position Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.
Schedule: Two 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays
Education
High School Grad or Equivalent
Certification/Licensure
Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.
Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
Or 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.
To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.
Experience
Any previous health care experience can be considered. Basic understanding of cardiac monitoring or EKG is strongly desired
