Job summary

Foundation Medicine, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Molecular Technologist I to join our regulated lab team on a Wednesday–Saturday shift (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) and contribute to Next Generation Sequencing library preparation, nucleic acid extraction, and test processing.

You will operate automated liquid handlers and NGS instruments, maintain SOPs, document results per GDP, and collaborate across teams to ensure quality, safety, and timely Turnaround Time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or life science (per NYSDOH regulatory requirements)
• 6 months of molecular laboratory work experience in a CAP/CLIA regulated lab
• Certifications or licensure that is required by the state or county in which the job is posted
• Onsite laboratory work and compliance with regulatory guidelines

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) library.
• Extract and isolate nucleic acids under supervision and SOPs.
• Complete hybridization capture and genetic sequencing methods.
• Operate automated liquid handling platforms and NGS instruments.
• Maintain quality and efficiency to support turnaround time (TAT).
• Document steps and results in GDP-compliant records.
