Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center seeks a Molecular Pathology Technologist to perform and validate molecular pathology tests, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, and QC/QA activities. The role requires familiarity with SOPs, independent work, and training of staff under Medical Director guidance.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Molecular Biology and FL MT license with Molecular Specialty; ASCP certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology required or related field.
• Licensed Medical Technologist with Molecular Specialty by the state of Florida required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• 12 months molecular pathology or related experience including nucleic acid extraction and PCR.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report molecular pathology tests following SOPs.
• Maintain equipment and records; QC/QA activities.
• Train technologists, residents, and staff.
• Assist with procedure/equipment evaluation and new procedures.
