Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Molecular Pathology Technologist to perform and report molecular pathology tests in a clinical setting. The role includes specimen handling, PCR-based assays, DNA sequencing, and quality control responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Molecular Biology, Florida licensure as a Medical Technologist with Molecular Specialty, and at least 1 year of related experience, with ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology.
• ASCP certified.
• Licensed Medical Technologist with Molecular Specialty by the state of Florida required.
• 12 months experience in molecular pathology or related field including nucleic acid extraction and amplification by PCR techniques.

Responsibilities

• Specimen handling: Receives, accessions, and processes blood and other human specimens for clinical analysis.
• Perform molecular pathology testing according to SOPs and report results within turnaround times.
• Maintain equipment, records, QC/QA activities, and participate in procedure evaluations and staff training.
