Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking a Molecular Pathology Technologist to support clinical molecular testing, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, sequencing, and assay validation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in molecular biology, Florida MT license with molecular specialty, and ASCP certification, with at least 1 year in molecular pathology.

You will maintain equipment, ensure QC/QA, train staff, and work under Medical Director guidance to deliver timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Medical technology or Biologic Science is required.
• Licensed Medical Technologist with Molecular Specialty by the state of Florida required.
• 12 months experience in molecular pathology, medical technology or related field including nucleic acid extraction and amplification by PCR.
• Knowledge of test validation, QC/QA activities and related laboratory regulations.

Responsibilities

• Specimen handling: Receives, accessions, and processes blood and other specimens for clinical analysis.
• Molecular Pathology Testing: Performs and reports tests according to SOPs in the clinical molecular lab.
• Maintains equipment and records; performs QC/QA and preventive maintenance.
• Provide training for technologists, residents, fellows, and other medical staff; ensure timely reporting.
