Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Molecular Pathology Technician for full-time day shift. Responsibilities include specimen handling, accessioning, and performing molecular testing per SOPs with quality control and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, is ASCP certified, and can work independently with strong organizational skills. Experience in nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing, and QA/QC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or equivalent. Includes understanding of molecular diagnostic techniques.
• Experience with quality control/quality assurance in molecular labs preferred.
• Ability to follow SOPs and document procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Specimen handling and accessioning for clinical analysis.
• Verify orders and enter specimen collection information into LIS.
• Perform molecular pathology testing per SOPs and report results with turnaround times.
• Maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in QC/QA activities.

Education

Master’s degree in Molecular Biology

Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Medical Technology or Biologic Science
