Job summary

NeoGenomics is looking for a Molecular Operations Scientist who will work under general direction to develop streamlined diagnostic protocols, new methods, and automated technology. This onsite role in Durham, NC operates Monday–Friday, day shift and may include project management duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Master’s preferred.
• ASCP MB certification required.
• Six+ years bench experience with Molecular/NGS testing strongly preferred.
• Familiar with CAP/CLIA and FDA (GCP or GLP) requirements.
• Deep understanding of laboratory and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance, mentors and directs lab personnel in molecular techniques.
• Represents the department in diverse settings incl. audits, vendors, conferences.
• Leads technical development projects and validates plans.
• Trains staff on new procedures or protocols in the lab.
• Expedites workflows to maximize capacity and collaborates to resolve production issues.
