Zusammenfassung

NeoGenomics Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Molecular Operations Scientist in Durham, NC, onsite, Mon–Fri day shift. You will lead molecular techniques development, supervise staff, and manage projects from sample collection to data delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a scientific discipline, 6+ years bench experience in molecular/NGS, and ASCP MB certification. CAP/CLIA and FDA knowledge are essential for compliance and quality in a fast-paced lab.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Master’s preferred.
  • ASCP MB certification required or eligible.
  • Six+ years of bench experience with Molecular/NGS testing.
  • Familiar with CAP/CLIA and FDA requirements.
  • Strong laboratory and analytical techniques knowledge.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a biohazard environment.

NeoGenomics is looking for a Molecular Operations Scientist who wants to learn to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite position in Durham, NC with a Monday – Friday, day shift.

Position Summary

As a Molecular Operations Scientist you will work under general direction and are responsible for conducting scientific and technical development processes leading to the successful completion of company projects including the development of streamlined diagnostic protocols, new methods and automated technology. You may also serve as the Project Manager and/or Supervisor for assigned projects; where you will supervise project deliverables, manage the sample and data collection process, data monitoring, and all associated project manager tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical guidance, mentors and directs laboratory technologists and associates in performing molecular techniques
  • Represents the department in a diverse range of settings, including other groups, clients, audits, vendors, conferences
  • Leads technical development projects and executes validation plans
  • Trains all levels of staff on new procedures or protocols implemented in the laboratory
  • Expedites workflows to maximize capacity by evaluating systems and recommending enhancements; as a team player offers feedback to achieve resolution of production problems/issues involving other departments
  • Works closely with management in the monitoring and correction of trends and problems in equipment operation, reagent usage and test procedures performance
  • Serves as a technical resource for the department by investigating and resolving analytical testing problems, recommending a course of action in instances identified as beyond acceptable limits, and responding to non-routine/complex inquires and/or requests from clients and sales representatives
Education, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline required. Master’s preferred.
  • Eligibility for or currently holding an active ASCP MB certification required
  • Six or more years of equivalent bench experience with Molecular/NGS testing strongly preferred
  • You will need to be familiar with CAP/CLIA and FDA (GCP or GLP as appropriate) requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations
  • Deep understanding of laboratory and/or analytical techniques
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
  • Possesses strong computer skills to accomplish tasks
  • Good visual acuity including color perception required for certain departments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
