Job summary

BD is seeking a D-Shift Operator in Sandy, Utah, for 6pm–6am rotating 12‑hour shifts with every other weekend off. The role involves checking parts, labeling, packaging, and conducting quality checks on injection molding processes.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 1–4 years of manufacturing experience, with injection molding experience preferred. This is an on-site manufacturing position with safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow.
• Can simplify complex processes; gets more out of fewer resources.

Responsibilities

• Perform/audit first/last article checks.
• Monitor auxiliary equipment for proper operation and grinding runners where applicable.
• Weigh and label each bag, box, or tote using the utility computer.
• Ensure all labels are correct according to the work order information.
• Prepare parts for shipment to the warehouse by labeling and stacking on pallets.
• Perform dimensional and visual quality checks.
• Document quality checks and corrective actions on the Molding Inspection Record.
• Prepare paperwork for upcoming changes.
• Handle and document rejected product on the injection molding machines.
• Communicate issues and changes to team to resolve promptly.
• Assist cross-training and on-the-job training of associates.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement teams and 5S activities.
• Meet department goals for completed KAS.
