Job summary

BD is seeking a Mold Set-Up Technician in Sandy, Utah to support injection molding operations. You will set up molds, monitor processes, perform quality inspections, and troubleshoot defects to ensure on-time production of high-quality medical devices.

The role requires 2–5 years of molding/manufacturing experience and a high school diploma or GED, with strong communication and teamwork skills. You will work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule on-site with required PPE.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of molding or manufacturing experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Must wear PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, smock, hair covering, and safety toe shoes.

Responsibilities

• Set up molds, injection molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor production processes and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform first article, last article, and in-process quality inspections.
• Troubleshoot molding defects and support corrective actions.
• Complete production paperwork and process documentation.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Support mold changes, mold maintenance, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, tooling, material handling, and production teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
