Job summary

BD is seeking a Mold Set-Up Technician in Sandy, UT to join our on-site manufacturing team. You will set up molds and injection molding equipment, monitor runs, and ensure quality products meet schedule.

This hands-on role requires 2–5 years of molding/manufacturing experience, a high school diploma or GED, strong communication and problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or with a team on a 12-hour rotating shift.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of molding/manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Must wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, smock, hair covering, safety toe shoes).

Responsibilities

• Set up molds, injection molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor production processes and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform first article, last article, and in-process quality inspections.
• Troubleshoot molding defects and support corrective actions; complete production paperwork and process documentation.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Support mold changes, mold maintenance, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, tooling, material handling, and production teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
