Job summary

Ultipro is seeking an Injection and Blow Molding Tooling Technician to own mold tooling performance, condition, and lifecycle. You will manage insert life, perform tooling adjustments, and support tooling changes to ensure product quality and reliable production.

This role focuses on tooling activities rather than general maintenance, requiring strong reading of mold drawings, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with process engineers and quality teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with injection and/or blow molding tooling.
• Experience with mold inserts, tooling adjustments, and mold troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mold drawings and tooling specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to document work in CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Own mold tooling condition, performance, and readiness for production.
• Document mold PMs, insert changes, and parts replacement in CMMS.
• Change, fit, and adjust mold inserts; track life and recommend repair or replacement.
• Perform tooling adjustments, honing, polishing, and minor retooling.
• Support mold setup, teardown, and tooling changes during production and trial runs.
• Diagnose and resolve tooling-related defects (flash, wear, dimensional variation).
• Collaborate with Molding Process Engineering and Quality teams on issues.
• Participate in new mold introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with external suppliers for mold repairs.
