Job summary

Vital Plastics, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Tooling Technician to maintain, repair, and support production tooling including injection molds. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate tool repairs to ensure tooling reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read mold and part prints.
• Experience diagnosing mold issues.
• Proficiency with test equipment (multimeters, calipers, micrometers).
• Able to operate a forklift.
• Strong OSHA safety knowledge.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with Delmiaworks ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Implement and complete preventive and predictive maintenance for production tooling.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble injection molds and tooling.
• Perform insert changes per production schedule.
• Troubleshoot mold/tooling issues and perform minor repairs.
• Design and implement tooling upgrades for performance and reliability.
• Update the Delmiaworks Preventive Maintenance Module.
• Maintain tooling spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate with Engineering for outside tooling repairs.
• Provide tooling support to minimize downtime.
• Provide backup support to Tooling Lead.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and comply with OSHA.
