Job summary

BD, a leading medical technology company, seeks a manufacturing associate for its Molding Center in Columbus, NE. You will perform quality testing, document results, and manage labeling and containment of materials to support production.

Minimum 2 years in manufacturing or a HS Diploma/GED with experience. BD emphasizes on-site collaboration; expect 4+ days in the office per week and adherence to safety and MES guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
• Computer skills: Basic or simple
• Organizational skills: Proficient
• Written and oral communication: Proficient
• Math skills: Proficient

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional, functional testing, and visual quality checks according to procedures.
• Communicate non-conforming material (defects) to the quality group and management.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork/documentation for the products being molded.
• Pack finished products into cartons and bag and affix content labels.
• Maintain an open line of communication to ensure problems and changes are communicated and resolved promptly.
• Perform line clearances of equipment at end of and prior to production run.
• Ensure all labels are correct according to work orders.
• Record problems during production such as defects and stoppages.
• Assist other team members in cross-training and on-the-job training of associates.
• Handle material transport to support production and inventory control.
• Cycle count inventory and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Contain rejected raw materials and finished goods; organize and store materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance duties as associated with job functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities (5S, blitzes, Shift Start-up).
• Maintain a clean, organized workplace (5S) and proper scrap containment.
