Job Description: Fiberglass Tooling Technician

Position Overview:

This role involves building new fiberglass tooling masters and production tooling, implementing changes to existing tooling, and maintaining and repairing molds. The position offers a starting pay of $16.00 per hour, full-time employment with benefits.

Tools and Equipment:

Includes chopper guns, gel coat spray guns, air-powered grinders, sanders, dremel tools, buffers, fiberglass saws, laser aligners, brushes, rollers, woodshop tools, materials, and personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, Tyvek suits, respirators, masks, boot covers, and aprons.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build new masters, mock-ups, molds, and specialized splashes using accepted methods.
2. Reshape and modify existing tooling masters and molds with precise measuring tools.
3. Inspect molds for maintenance or repair needs.
4. Select appropriate methods such as grinding, sanding, glassing, resurfacing, or reshaping.
5. Prepare molds for production by washing and waxing.
6. Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Moderate lifting (21-59 lbs), occasional heavy lifting (over 60 lbs).
• Repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, kneeling, and walking.
• Use of fingers and both hands, good depth perception, and color discrimination.
• Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors and indoors, around solvents, fumes, noise, vibration, and moving objects.
