Job summary

Amcor in Jackson, TN is seeking a Process Technician responsible for equipment setup, adjusting process controls, troubleshooting and resolving production issues to maximize yields and ensure quality.

You will train others, analyze molding defects, implement improvements, maintain safety and GMP compliance, and work 12-hour shifts (alternating schedule) in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
• Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Forklift certification and safe operation.
• Some computer experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to problem solve, interpret instructions in numerous formats.
• Basic math skills with measuring devices.
• Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs. periodically.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Working knowledge of molding theory preferred.
• Ability to interpret traveler/work orders.

Responsibilities

• Report to front line leadership.
• Work as a team member to achieve plant and departmental goals.
• Ensure production jobs run to cycle specifications for maximum yields.
• Analyze molding defects to determine root causes and initiate remedies.
• Recommend tooling and/or machine improvements for mold repairs and efficiency.
• Respond to alarms and take corrective action on quality and production issues.
• Communicate with shift personnel on quality, equipment, and productivity.
• Assist in improving production cell setups and reduce scrap and waste.
• Provide technical assistance to maintain productivity and quality requirements.
• Maintain documentation and procedures and update as changes occur.
• Train and mentor other process technicians in mold and process routines.
• Adhere to safety standards and GMP compliance.
