Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in injection mold fabrication or equivalent.
  • Ability to design and construct injection molds from drawings.
  • Familiarity with CNC, EDM, and conventional machinery.

Responsibilities

The Mold Maker is responsible for mold construction, mold repairs, build/ repair assembly machines and fixtures used in the production of Anderson Power Product molds.






Responsibilities




    Construct, alter and repair a wide variety of assembly equipment, mold components, fixtures and gages to very close tolerances.
  • Fabricate prototypes as required, from models, drawings etc.
  • Assure quality control standards are met via design standards and models, etc.
  • Use gauges, templates, calipers, and inspection equipment as required.
  • Estimate mold fabrication/mold repair times as required.
  • Responsible for communicating problems and issues to appropriate personnel.
  • May be required to give work direction to tool room associates in absence of Manager of Tooling.
  • Participate as a member of a Project Team and/or Cross Functional Team as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.





Qualifications




  • Technical degree or certification in tooling (AND) 8 or more years of injection mold fabrication experience (OR) an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Must be able to take an article drawing or model and design and construct a simple injection mold.
  • Must be able to take a component drawing or model and do the complete fabrication of such.
  • Must be able to recommend design changes to injection molds to maximize tool uptime.
  • Must be familiar with CAD/ CAM software.
  • Maintain a complete set of required tools for tool & die and mold fabrication.
  • Ability to mentor and train Mold Maker B's & C's.
  • Knowledge of computers systems, CNC, EDM, CAM (Mastercam), conventional machinery and safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley) helpful but not required.
  • Familiar with ANSI Y14.5.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. five times a week, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand on feet and sit for long periods of time.
  • This position requires repetitive reaching, stretching, lifting and twisting.
