Job summary

Hoffer Plastics is seeking a skilled Mold Maker / Mold Repair on 1st shift to support plastic injection mold repair and close-tolerance modifications. You will diagnose issues, grind complex forms, and ensure accurate, repeatable results while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

The role requires strong mold knowledge, high standards of precision, and ability to operate tooling like EDM, jig grinders, lathes, mills and grinders. Company offers training and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; TMA certificate preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mold repair in plastics injection.
• Competency calibrating tool-room equipment; hot runner knowledge a plus.
• Ability to operate EDM, Jig Grinding, Lathes, Mills, Grinders.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to plastic injection molds.
• Modify and repair molds, jigs and fixtures with very close tolerances.
• Diagnose problems and determine corrective actions on injection molds.
• Grind complex forms to tight tolerances and complete jobs efficiently.
• Maintain a safe, neat work area and document work performed.
• Adhere to safety regulations; contribute to continuous improvement.
