Job summary

Kelly Services in Canastota, NY is seeking a Machine Operator to operate plastic injection molding machines and ensure product quality. The role requires 60 hours per week with one weekend day and a 6am–8pm schedule, full-time with a salary of $18.00 per hour.

The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and strict adherence to work instructions across multiple stations. Responsibilities include documenting production records, performing quality inspections, and assisting with secondary operations

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Manual dexterity for secondary operations such as trimming and gauging.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Able to understand written instructions.
• Wlexible hours including one weekend day per week and overtime as needed.
• Willing to move between workstations as required.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate plastic injection molding machines per job instructions.

• Handle parts through gauging, trimming, and assembly processes.
• Document production records including scrap and downtime.
• Perform visual inspections for defects during operation.
• Execute secondary work such as gauging and inserting.
• Maintain area housekeeping including sweeping and vacuuming.
• Package and label products per work instructions.
• Escalate issues to supervisors or technicians as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and quality staff.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Shift: M-F 6am-8pm, 10-hour shifts (flexible based on talent needs).

MUST work 1 weekend day per week!

MUST work 60 hrs/week every week (includes the weekend hours)!

What’s a typical day as Machine Operator? You’ll be:

• Operating plastic injection molding machines according to job-specific instructions

• Monitoring machine-made products to ensure quality standards are met

• Handling parts through processes include gauging, trimming, and assembly

• Documenting production records, including start-up scrap, production scrap, and downtime

• Performing visual inspections for defects during operation

• Executing secondary work/assemblies such as gauging, trimming, and inserting

• Maintaining housekeeping in your area, including sweeping and vacuuming

• Packaging and labeling products according to work instructions

• Escalating issues to supervisors or technicians as needed

• Collaborating respectfully with supervisors, technicians, and quality staff
