Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Machine Operator in Canastota, NY to operate plastic injection molding machines and ensure product quality. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working a 60-hour week with one weekend day.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and multiplication).
• Sit, stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Full manual dexterity for secondary operations such as trimming and gauging.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Flexibility to work a schedule including one weekend day per week and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate plastic injection molding machines per job instructions.
• Monitor products to ensure quality standards.
• Handle parts through gauging, trimming, and assembly processes.
• Document production records including start-up scrap, production scrap, and downtime.
• Perform visual inspections for defects during operation.
• Perform secondary work such as gauging, trimming, and inserting.
• Maintain housekeeping in the work area (sweeping, vacuuming).
• Package and label products per work instructions.
• Escalate issues to supervisors or technicians as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and quality staff.

Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Shift: M-F 6am-8pm, 10-hour shifts (flexible based on talent needs).

MUST work 1 weekend day per week!

This is a full-time position.

This position requires the ability and willingness to work 60 hours per week to start.

What’s a typical day as Machine Operator? You’ll be:

• Operating plastic injection molding machines according to job-specific instructions

• Monitoring machine-made products to ensure quality standards are met
