Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is hiring a Surgical Medical Assistant to support the Mohs surgery team across Newnan and LaGrange, GA. This hands-on role involves assisting with Mohs surgery and scheduling surgeries when the surgeon is out of the office.

The position offers a 4-day work week, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with comprehensive benefits for full-time staff. Training and opportunities for clinical research and publishing are available for interested applicants.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, Surgical Assistant, or in a clinical patient care setting (dermatology or surgical experience preferred).
• Experience assisting with surgeries and Mohs surgery or similar procedures is required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, CNA, or Surgical Tech program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam and procedure rooms and assist with mobility.
• Collect patient history, intake, vital signs, and screenings per provider guidelines.
• Prepare rooms and sterile trays for Mohs procedures; assist during procedures.
• Administer local anesthesia and support hemostasis under provider direction.
