Job summary

Dermatology Institute, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support providers in LaGrange and Newnan, GA. The role blends clinical and front-desk responsibilities in a busy dermatology practice.

The ideal candidate has MA experience, preferably in dermatology or cosmetic procedures, with EMR proficiency and strong patient-care skills. Travel between nearby locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience required.
• Dermatology and/or cosmetic experience strongly preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred.
• Comfortable supporting both general medical and procedural patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with commitment to patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, escort to exam rooms, and prepare for appointments and procedures.
• Review and document patient histories and chief complaints.
• Assist physicians and APPs during medical, surgical, and cosmetic visits.
• Provide clinical assistance during in-office procedures (biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy).
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens for labs.
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections under supervision.
• Maintain EMR documentation.
• Review post-procedure care with patients.
• Assist with lab orders, pathology specimens, and follow-up coordination.
• Support front desk duties as needed (check-in/out, scheduling, phones).
• Monitor and restock supplies, keep exam rooms organized.
