Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a detail‑oriented Mohs Medical Assistant to join our Academic Alliance in Dermatology practice in Tarpon Springs & New Port Richey. You will assist the Mohs surgeon, manage patient intake, handle tissue specimens, and provide post‑operative wound care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical support experience (medical assistant, CNA, or similar).
• Experience with dermatology or Mohs procedures is a plus.
• CPR certification preferred; HIPAA and infection-control knowledge.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; excellent patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist Mohs surgeon during surgeries and excisions; pass instruments and provide suturing support.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare surgical rooms and instruments.
• Prepare local anesthesia syringes under supervision.
• Track specimens and route to labs according to insurance requirements.
• Escort patients, collect history, take vitals, and assist with pre-op screening.
• Apply post-op wound care instructions and teach patients/caregivers.
• Document patient interactions and procedures in the EMR (EMA).
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and restock supplies in compliance with HIPAA.
