Job summary

QualDerm Partners is seeking an experienced Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant to join our Wilmington, NC team. Dermatology experience is required and Mohs or surgical dermatology experience is a strong plus.

You’ll support Mohs surgeons, prepare patients, and help ensure a comfortable, well-cared-for visit. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting with instruments, maintaining a clean surgical environment, and documenting care in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic.
• Proficiency with EHR and medical software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and addressing patient concerns.
• Assist surgeons by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Ensure the surgical environment is maintained in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Provide post-operative instructions and support to patients to promote optimal recovery.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic health records (EHR).
• Coordinate with administrative staff to schedule appointments and follow-up visits efficiently.
