Qualifications

• HT/HTL certification within 1 year of hire.
• Associate's Degree in Laboratory science or equivalent.
• Completion of histotechnician or related training program is a plus.
• Demonstra t ed ability to work under supervision and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards; maintains records and stays current with regulations and advances in Mohs histology.
• Performs daily department QC, instrument QC, and routine preventive maintenance; operates cryostat per Health standards.
• Assists with QA activities including documentation, procedures, and quality-control records.
• Identifies problems in tissue processing or reporting and takes corrective actions; documents actions and notifies surgeon/manager.
• Prepares and maintains solutions and stains; maps tissue specimens; cuts frozen sections; maintains slides.
