Job summary

Providence Swedish seeks a Mohs Histology Technician for a full-time role in Bellevue, WA. You will perform horizontal and vertical frozen sections, process tissue, and maintain precise records per department standards.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, quality control, and assist in QA activities while coordinating slide handling and reporting for referring physicians. A histotech training or ASCP pathway is preferred.

Qualifications

• Training in performing Mohs horizontal and vertical frozen section processing.
• 1 year Mohs Technician experience cutting frozen sections under supervision of Mohs Surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards; maintains records and stays current with regulations and advances.
• Performs daily quality control, instrument and stain QC; maintains and operates laboratory equipment per WA DOH standards.
• Assists with Quality Assurance activities: survey documentation, procedures, protocols, QC records, and tallying total cases and activities.
• Identifies and corrects problems in tissue processing, slide preparation, or reporting; notifies Mohs surgeon and manager; documents corrective actions and risks.
• Prepares and maintains solutions and stains; maps and codes tissue; cuts horizontal and vertical frozen sections; disposes of tissue per best practices; maintains QC of slides.
• Labels, files, stores, and tracks slides; submits slides for diagnostic confirmation; coordinates slide return from outside labs.
