Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of MA work experience including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
• Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science and histotechnology training or equivalent.
• Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards and maintain required records.
• Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, and operation of laboratory and surgical equipment, including the cryostat.
• Prepare solutions, stains, and tissue specimens; perform frozen sectioning; manage slide labeling, storage, and distribution.
• Complete data entry, surgery notes, and physician correspondence using Logician and photography software.
• Maintain departmental logs, records, and inventory; monitor and order supplies; verify shipments.
• Assist with sterile tray setup, autoclaving, wound checks, post-operative follow-up, and surgical photography documentation.
• Provide patient support and assist with training and education activities as requested by the Mohs surgeon.
