Job summary

Z Modular, a Zekelman Industries division, seeks a Drafter / Shop Drawing Drafter to develop production-ready shop drawings and fabrication documentation for modular construction projects. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and shop trades to ensure drawings meet production requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in design for manufacturing, fabrication, drafting, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience producing shop drawings, construction details, and fabrication documentation.
• Advanced SolidWorks skills.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience with FrameCAD preferred.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, manufacturing processes, and production documentation.
• Ability to identify design conflicts, troubleshoot issues, and propose practical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develops production-ready models and shop drawings for modular manufacturing operations.
• Creates drafting packages, exported drawings, and automation files to support fabrication processes.
• Adapts and develops modular details to address manufacturing requirements and production conditions.
• Reviews consultant drawings and identifies questions, conflicts, inconsistencies, and coordination issues.
• Collaborates with Senior Designers to support weekly production schedules and deliverables.
• Researches and develops new assemblies, products, and components to support innovation initiatives.
• Partners with shop trades during prototype phases to optimize constructability and manufacturing processes.
• Maintains accurate and organized project documentation to support production and project execution.
• Supports cross-functional teams by providing technical drafting expertise and design coordination.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
