Job summary

ICF Olson is seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist to support mobility projects in New York with a focus on transit, microtransit, and travel demand management. The role involves data analysis, outreach, and collaboration with state DOTs, MPOs, and federal agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in planning or related field and 2+ years of experience, with strong communication and GIS/Office tools skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban and/or Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience in transportation, land use, or community-facing planning work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical material to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation planning, data analysis, and program evaluation projects.
• Conduct research and develop technical reports, guidebooks, and planning documents.
• Develop training / outreach materials and other products that help agencies implement programs and build capacity.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate engagement activities.
• Facilitate or support meetings and workshops; prepare materials that communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• Provide project management support, including tracking project schedules, deliverables, etc.
