Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is seeking a Mobility Tech in Newport Beach to ensure Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) for patient transport within the hospital and assigned locations. You will operate and maintain equipment, train team members, and collaborate with staff to deliver safe, dignified patient movement.

Responsibilities include handling patients with appropriate techniques, participating in SPHM training, and contributing to a safe care environment across departments.

Qualifications

• Reads, speaks, understands and follows written and verbal directions.
• Recognizes emergencies and reacts clearly to communicate.
• Able to train staff and adapt to hospital needs.
• Needs basic computer skills for workstation software.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; call center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move, transfer, reposition, and mobilize patients using equipment.
• Ensure SPHM training compliance and safety protocols.
• Inspect, operate, and maintain patient handling equipment; report malfunctions.
• Provide training and mentorship to new team members and other staff.
