Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Patient Transport role in San Diego, CA. You will mobilize patients using lift equipment and assist with safe, efficient transports throughout the facility, under RN direction. The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent and AHA BLS for Healthcare Professionals. Prior hospital experience is preferred; weekend shifts are possible under the SEIU-UHW agreement.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Professional required.
• 1 year hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and staff in a demanding environment.
• Provide safe and effective patient transports using appropriate mobility equipment and aids.
• Maintain transport logs and use the transport tracking system for patient and item movement.
• Identify patients with two identifiers and ensure proper hand-off protocol during transports.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely patient movement and safety.
