Job summary

Brooks Rehabilitation is seeking a Wheelchair Technician to maintain and repair facility-owned wheelchairs and related equipment. You will configure seating and drive systems per clinical orders, document changes in patient records, and manage inventory for hospital fleet components.

The role requires collaboration with clinical staff and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities include repairs, procurement coordination, and assisting with equipment trials, with a Monday–Friday day shift

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1 year in rehabilitation tech, assistive tech, or biomedical equipment maintenance preferred.
• Certification: AMRG Entry level within 18 months of hire (employer-sponsored).
• Technical knowledge: wheelchair mechanics, power electronics, seating setup/repair preferred.
• Communication: proficiency in Microsoft 365 for inventory and logs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility-owned wheelchairs and accessories.
• Configure wheelchairs and power wheelchairs per clinical orders.
• Document adjustments in patient records.
• Manage electronic inventory tracking of fleet components.
• Coordinate parts procurement and support equipment trials.
• Assist ATPs and therapists with equipment setups.
• Prioritize workload and ensure safety and infection control standards.
