Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operator to assist patients with transfers, transport between facilities and residences, and to administer oxygen as trained. A valid state license is required, with CPR certification preferred.

This role involves lifting and moving patients and working closely with healthcare teams in NJ facilities. Education includes a high school diploma or GED; licenses and training for MAVO are preferred.

Qualifications

• Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients transferring into/out of a wheelchair and transport between medical facilities and residences.
• Administer Oxygen to patients per NJ MAVO training.
• Interact professionally with patients, families, staff and physicians.

Assists patients in transferring into and out of a wheelchair, and transports patients in a Mobility Assistance Vehicle between medical facilities, from their residence, either private or licensed healthcare facility, in a professional and caring manner. Administers Oxygen to patients as per the ASHI Oxygen administration training for NJ Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operators (MAVO)

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Valid Driver's License from a USA state.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
• Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operator.

Contacts:

• Regular contact with the organization's team members, leaders, physicians, and patients; as well as, families/significant others, visitors, and facility/physician staff.

Working Conditions:

• Lifts a minimum of 100 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
