Job summary

Valley Medical Transportation in New Jersey is seeking a Mobility Assistance Vehicle Technician to safely operate wheelchair vans, load and secure patients, and provide timely status updates to dispatchers during each transport.

You must hold a current NJ MAVT certification, CPR, a valid NJ driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED. Three years of driving experience and one year MAVT experience are preferred, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and clear English communication.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current New Jersey MAVT certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Current, non-restricted New Jersey driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe operation of a Mobility Assistance Vehicle (Wheelchair Van) in compliance with all traffic laws.
• Safely load, secure, and unload wheelchair-bound patients utilizing all safety equipment 100% of the time.
• Assist patients as necessary and when appropriate.
• Maintain and care for assigned equipment.
• Communicate with Dispatchers and give frequent status updates.
• Ensure that appropriate patient medical documents accompany all transports.
• Complete all trip sheets and turn-in to dispatch at the end of your shift.
• Decontaminate, when needed, the vehicle interior.
• Must be capable of communicating in English.
• Perform all procedures in accordance with Mobility Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT) certification and company policies.
