Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Mobility Aide to support patients with transfers, standing, ambulation, and bed activities under nursing supervision, emphasizing safe handling and fall prevention. The role collaborates with nursing, rehabilitation, and physicians to promote mobility and safety.

You will document mobility activities in the EMR, participate in orienting new staff, and perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional department meetings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and fall prevention.
• Ability to understand and relay clinical instructions clearly to the care team.
• Ability to learn and navigate the hospital EMR and related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical assistance for transfers, standing, ambulation, and bed activities.
• Confirm mobility plans with the nurse before intervention and report outcomes to the team.
• Use proper body mechanics and fall safety measures with mobility devices.
• Assist other staff in multi-person or complex mobilization tasks.
• Document all mobility activities in the EMR promptly.
