Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer – iOS/Android within its Digital Security & Authentication team. The role is based in Pittsburgh, Denver, Strongsville, Birmingham, or Dallas and focuses on full-stack Java to deliver scalable web and mobile solutions.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade applications, build RESTful services, and integrate with APIs, collaborating with product owners, architects, UX, QA, and DevOps to ensure secure, high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with Java 11 / Java 17, Spring Boot, REST API development, Microservices architecture.
• SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Git source control.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks: Angular, React, or Vue.
• Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and/or Android.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and modern web technologies.
• Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database solutions.
• Integrate applications with internal and external APIs and third-party services.
• Participate in application architecture, design reviews, and technical planning sessions.
• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for iOS and/or Android.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs for mobile applications.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Support deployment through app stores and CI/CD pipelines.
