Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Lead in its Retail Tech organization. You will be based in one of several locations including Pittsburgh, Strongsville, Lakewood, Birmingham, and Dallas, and you will design, develop, and deliver scalable web applications and mobile solutions in collaboration with product owners, architects, UX designers, QA, and DevOps teams.

The role requires strong backend Java experience (Java 11+/17+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern frontend frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in software development.
3+ years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.
Strong experience with Java 11+/17+, Spring Boot, REST API development, and microservices.
Experience with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue).
Experience developing mobile applications for iOS/Android is a plus.

Responsibilities

Create and lead the design and development of enterprise-grade software solutions.
Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
Develop responsive UIs with Angular or React and ensure API integration.
Develop and maintain mobile apps for iOS and/or Android; consume RESTful APIs.
Support CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, testing, and security practices.
