Job summary

PNC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Lead for its Retail Tech organization. Based in multiple U.S. locations, the role focuses on full-stack Java development, scalable backend services, and mobile integration for iOS and Android platforms.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality digital solutions from concept to deployment and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience developing Java enterprise applications.
• Proficiency with Java 11+/Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) and Git.
• Frontend experience with Angular, React, or Vue; mobile apps for iOS/Android.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and modern web technologies.
• Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Develop responsive user interfaces with Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases and integrate with internal/external APIs.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, QA teams, and DevOps engineers.
