Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our field team in the United States. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions and off-lease, identify damage and mechanical issues, and document findings.

You will generate condition reports, assist sales with cross-selling services, travel to dealerships, and build strong dealer relationships while delivering trusted, transparent service. Requirements include at least one year in the auto industry, ability to work outdoors,

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in automobile field (body, paint and mechanical) with customer service background
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required
• Knowledge of system capabilities and needed/job-relevant software packages
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting 25+ lbs, bending, and squatting
• Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission
• Vision abilities required to properly identify defects

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions and off-lease to detect damage and mechanical problems
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition and repair estimates
• Interface with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build relationships
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports
• List inspected wholesale vehicles for bidding on the platform
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the platform
• Perform additional duties as assigned
